This novel cribs off of a HUGE number of other sources - Brave New World (Huxley), of course, and We (Zamyatin), and The Time Machine (Wells), but also the work of Spoiler Kim Bo Young, Arthur C Clarke, and you know what: The Matrix. ![]() (I had it clocked at around 30% of the way through - it isn't subtle.) All the talk of Spoiler the world not being the world and a Spoiler giant mystery ship and it's. However: if you DO read sci-fi, or alternate dystopian histories, you know where this book is going. It's fun, it moves really quickly, it isn't too dense or complex it is, overall, a smooth read, and would be a fabulous introduction for someone who's acclimated to a particular genre and is looking to dip their toes into a broader variety of story. This is a fantastic book for people who don't read a lot of speculative fiction. ![]()
